¡¿Temple + Élder Chivers + Procession?!

Elder Reidhead, Elder Powell, Elder Chivers

This week has been I think the most eventful week of the mission 😂

Monday was wonderful, we got to play some more soccer after i sent out my email, which is always amazing 😂 We had dinner with some members Santi and his wife Ruth and Pancho was there as well, and it was wonderful. It is so amazing to see how much my spanish has grown and how much the Lord helps me in learning and growing. If it weren't for Him I would still know nothing about Spanish. Ruth made us a carbonara pizza, and it was the best pizza ive ever eaten in my life. I ate that and then was like ooh that was pretty good that was a great dinner, and then she brought out a barbacoa pizza, and that was delicuous, and THEN she brought out a hawaiian pizza, which is my favorite pizza (aside from that last carbonara), and i ate that and i was like dang idk how i just ate all of that, and then she brought out ANOTHER hawaiian pizza, and we ate all of that, and i was just like idek how im not full yet, and then ANOTHER pizza, and keep in mind these are all homemade and the most delicious pizza's ive ever eaten. Then we had dessert, and idk what it was but all that was so good and i could've had at leat 3 more pizzas and some more dessert without being full 😂

Tuesday was amazing as always, we were able to find a super cool family from colombia that has only been here for 4 days and they are super interested in the gospel and really want to learn and come to church. I also took a test for my spanish and it was so crazy to see how much ive grown. I havent realized my growth, but it reminded me that God works little by little and He adds upon all of your efforts.

Wednesday was... MADRID!! It was a little over a 4 hour train ride and then maybe like 30 mins or something like that to the temple and mission office, and for some reason i get motion sick on the trains here, so i was able to do some contacts on the phone for a little, and then slept when i started feeling sick, and then just repeated the cycle when i woke up 😂 when we got there we met up with the other missionaries there and it is so good to see all of them. We got burgers with Élder Malaikal and Élder Olson and idk what they put in that meat but it was the best burger ive ever had in my life.

Thursday we woke up and went to the temple!!! I love the temple so much and it was such an amazing opportunity to be able to go. What i got from it this time is that all things can be done through Christ's power. I also learned deeper of concecration and how everything we do should be glorifying God, and we should give our every effort to Him and not hold anything back. After the temple we got churros and chocolate and they were delicious. Idk how they do it but the churros taste delicious but also healthy at the same time. It's probably cause they dont load cinnamon and sugar in it but either way they are delicious 😂 We did a training meeting and then we got our new comps and we got... ELDER CHIVERS!! He is such an amazing missionary and is so willing and wanting to work hard and give it his all. I am so impressed by his amazing example. We got a train back and it got delayed so we ended up being in piso like right at 10 so we got ready for bed and showed Elder Chivers around the piso and led him unload his stuff and then slept.

Friday was super fun, we had district council and it was wonderful to meet all the new missionaries in the district. We had a día de naciones as well and it was super fun, we had albania, spain, usa, honduras, mexico, uk, and venezuela represented, and they all made food from their countries and it was so delicious. They did dances and songs from their countries and it was so fun.

Saturday was the most unexpected day of my whole mission 😂 we were doing contacts and this little girl came up to us wearing a miami messi shirt asking us where we were from in english and then her whole family comes up as well, and it turns out they were from draper haha. We told them about kebab and then they ate with us and paid for our food and they were such a nice family, i hope we get to meet them again, and i hope that they loved the kebab 😂 we went back to piso to make cookies to bring to people and that is when procession started, and it went until at least like 9pm, so for about 7 hours cause they took all the virgins from all of the churches in jerez (which is 35) and walked them through the street. It was super cool to see. It was super packed so it took us over 2 hours to get to the other side of the street to the house that we were trying to get to, and then the mom wasn't home so we weren't able to give them the cookies 😂 but we were able to see a beautiful sunset and give some people Jesus cards and the weather was perfect. We had a lesson with Javier and basically just answered questions he had, and we were able to show him the gospel topics essays so hopefully he is able to read and study those. But the Spirit was super strong.

Sunday was the best day as always. I love being able to take the sacrament and renew my covenants with God. Our covenants give us a special connection to God and His love, and I truly feel that as i live in and obey the covenants that I have made with my Heavenly Father. We did our studies and a member family, the Celdrá Aceves family, invited us over for their noche de hogar, and it was so amazing. The Spirit was so strong while they taught, and it made me so happy to see them coming closer to Christ through the Book of Mormon as a family. After we played a game called jungle something where you have to grab a wooden stick if your card matches with someone else's, and Juan, the dad, smacked the stick and it flew into Hugo's, the son's, mouth and there was a lot of blood but he was alright 😭😂 Zaida, the mom, made us bocadillos and arroz con leche, and the Spirit must've told her to make those cause the meet that she brought out for the bocadillos and arroz con leche are my absolute FAVORITES.

The work here has been super hard lately and we have had to drop a ton of our friends cause they dont want to keep learning or things like that, but I know that the Lord has people prepared for us and that as we continue to give Him our all, we will find them and we will be able to see His work go forth and progress. Even if we don't get to see the fruits from our efforts, I know that He is hastening His work.

I invite all of you to keep your covenants with God, and if you have not made any covenants yet, then I would invite you to make covenants with your Heavenly Father! Covenants are a two way promise, and what we give to God is so miniscule compared to what He gives us! True love, peace, and happiness cannot be found anywhere in this world, solar system, galaxy, or universe. Only through our loving Father in Heaven can we find TRUE love and peace and happiness.

I love you all, and I know that our Father in Heaven loves each and every single one of you; perfectly and personally.

In the name of Jesus Christ, amén.

Os quiero ❤️
