Hola a todos!!!
I hope you have all been wonderful!! You are all in my prayers!!
This week has been amazing!!
We had intercambios on Monday, and i was blessed to go to Cadiz con Élder Walker. He is another redhead so people talked about how they had never seen that 🤣 Cadiz is basically an island, and it was so beautiful. We saw a bunch of miracles there with talking with people they hadnt been able to talk to in months, and we were able to go to a member's house during mediodía and she fed us until we couldn't eat anymore 🤣
Tuesday was still intercambios, that's the day we had lunch with the member, and I forgot to mention she is super cool. She was the first relief society president in Cadiz, and she was telling us how when she went to a general conference back in the day they announced her name, along with others who came from all over the world, over the pulpit. I also had the best food I've ever eaten in my life: a mango from Mercadona. It changed my life, they are so good.On Wednesday we had our amigo Felipe cancel on us, but then he uncanceled and we had an amazing lesson with him about the restauración. When we were planning, I felt prompted that we should teach him the restoration, and Elder Reidhead suggested we teach him the gospel of Christ, and I thought that was a good idea as well and so we pondered, and we went with the restoration, and at the start of the lesson when we were talking with him, I was thinking we should change it to the gospel of Christ, but then he asked us a bunch of questions, like what makes us different from Catholics, and all of them were answered in the lesson with the restoration. Then, we taught John the restoration in English later in the day. It was super cool teaching it in Spanish and English in one day. John is a little shy, but during the whole lesson he had the biggest smile, and the Spirit was so strong.
Thursday we went over to a member's house for mediodía, and the dad, David, lived in WVC for 2 years for business things. It was so cool to find that out cause he is also the first person that's not from Utah that I've met that knows where WVC even is jaja. They are such a strong and faithful family and it was so amazing to meet with them.
Friday we had district council and the matrimonio made us Costco hot dogs with chili and it was so good, I haven't had hot dogs in forever 🤣. We also had a lesson with our friends Eyi and Fran, and Fran is a member but inactive, and it is so amazing to see their strong testimonies and how they are growing, and how the Lord is bringing happiness and everlasting joy into their lives.
Saturday we had sports night in Puerto de Santa María, and it was super fun, we were able to bring our friend Patrick, who is a member, but we were able to teach him about the word of wisdom and we had a great time with him and the Hermanas and amigos in Puerto. We also had kebab with Patrick, and it was his first time, so that's always wonderful jaja.Sunday was so amazing. We had an amazing reunion sacramental and lección despues. We asked a family in the ward if we could meet with them that night, and they said they would love to but they don't have food, and we explained how they didn't need to have food and we would love to come over and share a message with them. We went over at 6pm (or 18:00 😂), and they said they were looking around the house, and it was a miracle they were able to find a bag of cereal. We ate cereal with them, and that was my favorite meal of the mission so far. That family is so amazing and so faithful, and so kind and so loving. They asked me a bunch of questions to get to know me and they are just so amazing, they are like my family now 😂. When we were planning our message with them, I thought of how we did Book of Mormon charades in seminary (thank you for the wonderful game Brother Kendall), and so we came up with a bunch of ideas for them to do, and they had the best time ever playing it. They were so good too, we weren't gonna do el sueño de Lehi, but we did, and that one was my favorite, they did it perfectly. After that we shared our testimonios with them, and the Spirit was very strong. After that, they taught us some more games and it was so fun, they are such wonderful people and such an amazing family. On our way back to our piso, we went to visit some menos activos, and for the first time ever, we knocked on the door, the people answered, it was actually the right people, AND they let us in their piso. We shared a message with them about the Book of Mormon and how it testifies of Christ and how reading it we can feel His love, and they were so nice and loving and so willing to follow Christ. Élder Reidhead asked one who Christ is to her, and she said that He is her everything. On our way back, we talked to this girl named Esther from Paraguay. She was actually looking for a church to join. She told us many very personal spiritual experiences, that I feel are too sacred to share over email, but they were such a testament to me that this is the true church. There are people out there searching for Him and for His church, and like Joseph Smith said, there are many stuck searching because they "know not where to find it." It is the biggest blessing in the world to be able to help people find Him, and to help them bind themselves to Him and experience fully of His love and His Spirit through covenants.
I leave my testimony with you all that I know that this church is true. I know that this is the church of Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet. I know that Jesus is the Christ, the Only Begotten of the Father. I know these things without a doubt, and I know that each and every one of you can know the same. Moroni 10:3-5. As we read the Book of Mormon daily, even if it is just a verse, we will have so much love and peace and joy in our lives, we will be better people. So I invited all of you, to do exactly that. Feel of His love. Experience of His peace. Gain a testimony for yourselves. I know that the Book of Mormon will change all of your lives as it has changed mine, more than is possible to describe. I leave these things with you guys in the name of Jesus Christ, amen. You guys are always in my prayers, os queremos muchísimo.
