Provo MTC - "Elder Powell Has Arrived!" - July 31, 2024

That smile on his face is EVERYTHING!

Elder Powell arrived at the Provo MTC (Missionary Training Center) on Wednesday July 31st, 2024. He was excited to get there and meet his companion in person, and completely dive into his missionary training and prepare to travel to Spain on September 4th.


A large crowd of current missionaries at the MTC were there to cheer on the arriving missionaries, and one Elder was there to help him with his bags and getting settled into the MTC.

Rules for sending packages and letters to Sam at the MTC:

  • Missionary mail or packages should come through the US Mail or other commercial delivery services. A list of approved delivery services is attached to this email. (see below)
  • Perishable food can go bad in the mail and cause illness. Family and friends should consult the approved delivery services on what can be sent without endangering missionaries' health.
  • Please ask your family and friends not to deliver things to you at the front security booth, during your temple visits, gym time, over the MTC fence, or by any other unapproved delivery method.

temple visits, gym time, over the MTC fence, or by any other unapproved delivery method. This
includes individual delivery services such as DoorDash, Grubhub, and Uber Eats because they
will only deliver directly to the individual. These will be turned away at the security booth, even
if the approved services below offer them as a delivery option.

NOTES ON PACKAGE DELIVERIES
  • Packages may also be sent through USPS, UPS, Fed Ex and Amazon. Unlike residential deliveries, Amazon can only deliver Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 6:00pm.
  • Delivery confirmation texts/emails sent by the delivery services are not always accurate as to when packages arrive at the MTC. With various scanning points in the delivery process, we have found that these texts/emails are not always reliable.
  • Once a package is delivered to the MTC Mail Room, the staff there puts a notice in your missionary’s mailbox telling them they have received a package. The missionary brings the notice to the Mail Room service window to pick up their package on their own schedule.
